YESSSSSSSS!!! ORANGE ANIME IS HEREEE!

OMG OMG!

I was keeping up to date on the news on anime today as usual and then I read an article stating that Orange by Takano Ichigo will be getting an adaptation as an anime!! I was so sad thinking there was a live adaptation but not an anime one but now the dream has come truee!

Orange (Takano Ichigo)
Rating: 10/10

If you're unaware, Orange follows the story of Takamiya Naho who receives a letter from herself in the future and tells herself of the events that will come and the events that she deeply regretted for doing and not doing. After realising that the contents of the letter were true, she reads on to find out the true purpose of why the her in the future sent this letter; which is to tell her to that her biggest regret was that she couldn't save Kakeru and wants her to spend more time with him and understand him better this time in hope to change the future where he is no longer there.

Personally, I thought this manga was great. I'd totally give it a 10/10 just because of how deeply it enraptured me into its story from the first few chapters and how much it made me cry over it. I probably cried the whole way through loll. What Orange excels in isn't the idea of an original story or unique characters at all but the fact that our characters are very normal, human and relatable. The story isn't about a girl who could miraculously change things for the better just because she received a letter from the future her but a story of proper growth and very realistic dilemmas whether it be for an adult or a teenager. Throughout the whole story, I always thought to myself, knowing that you need to save someone doesn't mean that you can save them. Knowing that they are in pain and lack a desire to live doesn't mean that you can force them to live. I think what Takano Ichigo portrayed really well through this story was the idea that things will never change unless you want it to change and do something to make it change and she shows really well how even if you change things, it won't necessarily be for the better, but you still need to persevere and you will persevere if you think it's important.

Well, I tried my best to be as vague as possible hahaha but I seriously loved this manga and can't wait until the Summer when it airs! Summer in Japan means Winter here in Australia so it'll probably air around July when it's my birthday yay!~ Super looking forward to it! Super recommend the manga! Especially since it's not very long chapter-wise but it's dense in its content when you read since there's a lot of characters' feelings to take in. Personally, I always thought Kakeru's feelings were so heavy and every time I saw stuff from his perspective, I couldn't help but understand and feel the same as him. It's a beautifully compiled story that was at the right length without it being draggy at all. I loved every bit of it and still do. Definitely a memorable manga, one that is hard to forget for me.

Winter Anime 2016 - General Overview

Yayy!! First proper post on this blog!! So I've had some time after my summer school exam to catch up on some of the new anime that has been released and I really wanted to watch 5 episodes before I made a decision on whether to continue it or not (unless I absolutely cannot live through the eps)  but yeah! Hopefully, this will be helpful! I had lots of fun trying them out too!

To be honest, I haven't been watching anime as regularly as I used to in my primary to high school years since I just got so sick of fanservice that made anime like Rosario Vampire just seem so unappealing lol, especially since I loved the manga for that one sigh. But recently, after realising that Durarara!! has so many seasons, I popped in and out to watch some anime and now I want to go back into it entirely, so I thought a blog to keep track of my thoughts and feelings about these would be good.

For the anime that I still like or just the ones I decided to finish, I'll probably make a final review and have a final rating when the series ends or the season ends but yeah, for now, here's my general view on the most of them! I'm on the latest episodes for all of them so let's see how I think! P.S anything rated 7 and over is\recommended whereas anything else lower feels quite skippable for now. I've tried filtering out everything I don't feel like is worth watching so let's begin~

Boku Dake ga Inai Machi (ERASED)

Temporary Rating: 7.5/10 - I like it

Probably the most hyped anime for this Winter is Boku Dake ga Inai Machi and for a good reason as well but I've always been a manga person so obviously I would rate the manga higher. I do rather enjoy this, which is why after watching the first episode, I decided to binge read the manga haha. But yeah, I am rather fond of the manga more than this. Especially since I don't know if the anime decided to skip it over or will show it later but I always thought that *spoiler?* Satoru's guilt towards making Hiromi go along with them to the hideout when he didn't want to and I think that was when the incident happened so that left quite an impact on me and solidified my impression of why Satoru can't get these incidents out of his mind.

But basically, it's about a guy who has this ability that forces him to rewind back in time like maybe 10 minutes or so to prevent some sort of "bad" incident from happening and the story only really starts when somehow the power re-winded him back to when he was a child in order to stop the child murders that occurred from happening because you know, the past is always tied to our futures.

From the first few episodes, you can see that it starts off slow but is still rather engaging enough because of Satoru's earnestness in trying to save Hinazuki causing all the kids around him to believe that he's in love with her. To be fair, I already know what happens after reading the manga and I have to say that this is one of those where the culprit is so obvious, you'd think it's someone else but I think that was on purpose because of the impact it gave when it revealed who it was. Well, the ending of the manga will be out in March and I'm looking forward to it very much!

This is definitely one of those manga where the journey would probably be better than the ending and I have to say that the journey was amazing. I loved every bit of it; how they became friends, how they tried to protect each other, how they ended up connecting on a deeper level etc. Although saddening, I do really like it. If you're interested in a bit of mystery with the focus on character feelings and thoughts, I'd recommend this. A bit predictable on the culprit side of things but definitely a good ride. It's one of the better series this season.

Kono Subarashii Sekai ni Shukufuku wo! (KonoSuba)

Temporary Rating:.7.5/10 - I really like it

To be honest, I really didn't expect much of this. I really didn't, I mean, I looked at the image above and thought it was one of those typical harem crap but I thought I might as well try it AND THEN... Omg! This is so hilarious! Hahaha! Definitely great for some laughs but with a nice fantasy setting that is quite amusing in the way they handle the story. It's about this guy who died trying to save another girl (that didn't need saving HAHAHA) and died  in the most ridiculous way possible and meets a goddess that gives him choices in how he can reincarnate, where he chooses to reincarnate in this RPG-like fantasy world with the goddess as his supposed cheat/legendary item to bring along with him because she was laughing at him lolll. Every time our MC laughs evilly, omg, I just can't stop rofling hahaha.

It definitely has a very light take to the objective of heading off to defeat the demon king and you can already imagine that it's all going to become a big joke when they meet the demon king in the end just because of how stupidly funny this whole thing goes. But it's immensely enjoyable. Also quite realistic in how our MC doesn't have any special abilities and actually has to do physical labour to earn some money. But man, his companions lolll; that mage hahahaa. Anywho, my favourite parts were definitely the panties stealing skill with the mc laughing maniacally after taking it from the thief hahahaha omg, highlight of the whole series right now LOLOL. Definitely recommended!

Dagashi Kashi

Temporary Rating: 7.5/10 - I'm enjoying it!

Hahahaha, I like this one! Just because it's absolutely ridiculous but at the same time, it really makes me want to try the candies and snacks that are shown. It's probably an anime that I never thought I would need or like but after watching it, I really do like it! The basic premise is that our guy mc is an aspiring mangaka but his dad wants him to take over their small dagashi (cheap snacks and candies for kids with small allowances) shop. At this time, the heiress girl from a famous sweets company comes to recruit the mc's dad because he's some sorts of sweets genius, but he said he'd only go and work for them if she can convince his son to take over the business. And thus begins their daily lives of trying various different candies in everyday life with Hotaru who is an absolutely ridiculous person loll.

I think the great thing about this is that our mc tries his best to be normal but always ends up getting swept into Hotaru's pace and becomes ridiculous alongside her which just makes you crack up haha. If you're looking for some comedy with information on Japanese candies and snacks shown to you in an entertaining way then I'll totally recommend this! Just don't take the characters seriously and it'll be super enjoyable hahaha.

Niji-iro Days

Temporary Rating: 6/10 - I like it

As a fan of the manga, I was super excited to see this! Too bad they're in 10 minute episode formats zz but apparently, there's 24 episodes so I guess it'll be just like a 12 ep anime season like other stuff. It's basically about the daily lives of the four boys above and their possibly romantic counterparts well except the blue haired one since he's already got a girlfriend so that one's a definite romantic counterpart. But you can see how the romantic  pairings are pretty much set up so you're really looking forward to their interactions and development most of the time. More than funny, I would think that it is a cute anime with a light hearted beat to it that makes it enjoyable. Personally, I think the manga is much better just because I feel like..hmm I dunno, maybe it's because I already know what happens so it's not as entertaining but yeah I do like this. I'd say the main pairing is pretty cute and Tsuyopon and his gf are adorablee! Hahaha. Definitely has some sweet moments. A very refreshing sorta shoujo from the guys' perspectives.

Dimension W

Temporary Rating: 7/10 - I like it

The first two episodes didn't seem too interesting but I think it's starting to pick up and our female mc is much more adorable and cute than the annoying thing I initially thought she was haha. It's about a world that has been able to tap into Dimension W which allows them to access infinite energy to use and thus the company that monpolises this has created things called coils to use and control this energy that they are able to take from it. So of course when there's stuff like this, there will be private companies illegally making their own unofficial (possibly) dodgy coils and then there will also be the appearance of the original numbered/beta coils that attempted to access the deeper parts of Dimension W instead of the regular coils that are being used in the everyday for ordinary people that only use energy that is from the surface of Dimension W; whatever this surface is.

I think it's relatively interesting in that I like how amusing our female mc is in how she interacts with the people and things around her that shows she's robotic but so similarly human that it's amusing. Our male mc on the other hand doesn't really have much depth to his character besides being badass as a guy that hates the use of coils and refuses to use it yet delves in this profession of collecting dodgy coils with our female mc. But I do think the stories behind the people using these dodgy coils and the stories and personalities of the people trying to find the numbered coils are probably the highlight of this as it gives some sort of anticipation for there being much more in the story and that we're only tapping into the surface of the plot right now (which it probably is) so I think I'll keep following this. The art is also rather different and nice so I like that.

Reikenzan: Hoshikuzu-tachi no Utage

Temporary Rating: 6/10

Hmm for now, the subs are a major turn off for this one so I've opted to watching the Chinese version loll. But anyway, this seems to be a co-production with a Japanese company and a Chinese one and is possibly one of the first adaptations of a Xianxia novel so it's most definitely an exciting thing. Xianxia would most basically be a more fantasy-like Wuxia genre but instead of martial artists, it's probably more focused on the idea of humans or whatever gaining immortality and practically becoming some sort of deity and whereas wuxia probably focuses on martial prowess, xianxia is probably more super power like in that regard as well I guess.

Anyway, it seems to be about the story of our mc going through trials and joining the Spirit Blade Sect where he learns from the beautiful but gambling addict Oubo/Wang Mu into becoming an immortal being. For now, the show seems to lean towards a more comedic feel although I think it's rather interesting since it has that Japanese but Chinese feel to it since you can see through the visuals, art style etc that it is undoubtedly a Chinese story. It is rather funny that when I was watching the Chinese dub that our male mc seemed a bit more comedic than cool and smart with a bit of a funny side to him. It's probably a language thing haha. Overall, I think it's an all right show with it being very light-hearted but a nice delve into the world of xianxia although I have to say that the first few episodes felt very choppy story-wise and pacing-wise. Apparently the art is sub-par from others' comments but I don't have a problem with it. I think I'll follow it for a little while longer just because it's rare to see a Chinese adaptation and my Hong Kong TVB doesn't give me my dose of fantastical worlds so I'll see how this one goes.

Gate: Jietai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri 2nd Season

Temporary Rating: 6.5/10 - I like Lelei at the dragon scene~

I still find the art way too cute for me but I trudged through it to see the dragon part and Lelei's coolness didn't disappoint. Will always prefer the manga of course because I'm just that type but I think it was pretty cool. Probably would've thought it was even more cool if I didn't read the manga but all good~ kinda sad that they really like to omit the details though like for the girl who was ordered to kill Noriko but didn't want to. You could really see her reluctance and how much she loved her job and how much she treasured the place she was currently living in than what was shown in the anime. It was much more conflicting. You could also see how fearful the others were of this incident in whether they would get kicked out because of it but it wasn't only because of fear but because they didn't want to lose this place that they treat as home anymore but the anime also doesn't show that so I'm really rather meh about this. I'll keep watching it but I doubt I'll change my thoughts on this. Rory still the best though whether it be the manga or anime haha <3

Schwarzesmarken

Temporay Rating: 6/10

Surprisingly, I think this is OK despite the bad rating I see on AniDB haha. But I've never watched Muv-Luv Alternative and whatever which is supposedly linked to this somehow so I can't comment on that. However, the story seems to follow the idea that our main characters are situated in East Germany and have been at constant war and aggression with West Germany and still are even with the appearance of BETA which are basically alien monsters invading Earth I guess but seem to be focused primarily around the Germany area. In addition to that, there is the Stasi which are the state security force responsible for monitoring people and enforcing the laws of the nation and thus basically a government group that cleans out any rebels and those who are against their ideals or pro-west Germany or something and our main characters have all been traumatised and hurt by this group and thus seek to overturn them as well as the BETA to create a Germany with freedom where the citizens are the ones who form this country and not that the country is the one oppressing them.

For now, besides the utter ugliness of the BETA and how squishy they look every time they are destroyed (always looks like meat and blood flies everywhere), I'm quite fond of war and attrition in stories and would like to see how they will handle this. Fights are okay for now I guess although not exciting but I think it does quite well the portrayal of death without it getting too out of hand. As for our main characters, they were quite annoying in the first few episodes since they were either just arrogant or idiotically idealistic but I guess I like the male mc a bit more now just because his attitude became a bit more understandable. I don't think you'll be missing out if you didn't watch this but it seems rather fine to kill time seeing their tactical surface fighter robot things fight and kill some aliens I guess.

Hai to Gensou no Grimgar

Temporary Rating: 7/10 - I  like it

After watching episode 4, I boosted up the rating for this; well, I already boosted it up after episode 2. This one starts off pretty slow but I can feel from it that there's something interesting in store for the future and I'm really looking forward to that, so basically the high rating for this is because of its' potential. Whether it lives up to it or not, we'll see. Basically, it's about people who seem to have somehow landed in this unfamiliar world with only the memory of their names and occasional babbles in their random conversation that they actually come from worlds similar like ours but have somehow ended up in this realistic fantasy world with goblins etc where they are conscripted to be volunteer soldiers in order to survive. Our main characters consist of the dud team where in RPG terms, they'd be considered noobs that are unable to earn any money since they find it hard to take down a goblin but they try so it's really about their growth as adventurers and people in this world and how they slowly accustom themselves into living here.

I think that the story progression and depiction of how the characters handle the situations that they are put into is really immersive and realistic. Initially, when they were trying to take out a goblin but failed to do so, I seriously thought that they were such noobs but I realised after that, that this isn't a game where there's an auto aim or at least 80% accuracy or just even when you miss, you don't really see how you miss because that's all omitted with a 'miss' pop-up but through their encounters, you can really see how difficult it is to actually fight. In addition, I think it portrayed really well the impact of them killing a goblin; although it's survival of the fittest, it still evidently left a bad taste in their mouths and mine as well just from watching it. I don't think I've felt so disgusted at such a thing since some other thing I watched.

Also, although the event that occurred in episode 4 was quite foreseeable because of all the obvious hints and talks etc, it was still devastating because I really liked him, now I'm really sad that I'm stuck with the rest of these characters without him loll. Hopefully, there's better character development in the future episodes~ But yeah, my eyes did get a little watery on the fact that you can't resurrect people in this world. Haha, I'd definitely recommend this for some fantasy adventure w/ character development and growth physically and mentally. I'm quite enjoying this so far especially since it goes along on more of the fantasy genre rather than the typical stuck in a game world genre with the hp and mp bars etc and also because our main characters are utterly poor and it really shows how realistic things can be and how the world is when you are poor. Although I do agree with others that sometimes the rest of the characters frustrate me to no end.

Durarara!!x2 Ketsu

Temporary Rating: 8/10 - Really like it as always~

As always, fan of Durarara!!~ It's hyping up even more this season since Mikado has finally lost it and Masaomi is finally back to care about this best friend of his. I've been soo curious but the official English translations of the novels will take yeaaars to get to this so I'm super excited that I can watch this hehe! Everyone's being kickass as usual and the action is always full of excitement and anticipation alongside the many different stories of our characters that always happen to collide with each other to create these bizarre and crazy situations that we all love! Needs more Shizuooo! But all good, story is definitely picking up with Masaomi's Yellow Scarves back and Mikado's rampage with the former Blue Square members. I wanna see more of Izaya's sisters tooo~ But yeah, this is the main reason I started watching anime again in the first place so defs gonna watch this until the end <3 and Durarara usually does not disappoint =)

Musaigen no Phantom World

Temporary Rating: 6.5/10 - I like it

Actually, I'm quite fond of this one. I wasn't very impressed with the first two episodes despite the limbo thing being hilarious but I think for what this anime is trying to show, it does it quite well. There's comedy and fantasy elements that intertwine quite well and I really enjoy that. In addition, although light-hearted, it also delves a bit into the inner depths of the heart of the stories of our characters that give it more of this personal touch and heart-warming feeling to it despite the cuteness and sparkles. Although cliche with the stories, they were shown very well in a one episode format. I quite enjoyed the bear world, Albrecht was so adorable~ But yeah, basically this is about our main characters capturing phantoms; I think their way of capturing them is also quite amusing in that it makes the whole thing more of a funny and enjoyable experience rather than something serious but when there's action, the magic they have is impressively beautiful and interesting in its own respect.

But I think the main reason that I like this in comparison to the stuff I dropped is that the characters are although cute and probably more appealing to men, their personalities are very likeable in their own way despite being stereotypical. I also really like our male mc because when he encounters the different stories of our characters, he's always there as a supporting role to either give them courage or to watch over them when our characters get through their respective weaknesses and problems that they would like to change. I like that he isn't required to save them but only there to support them into making this decision. I think this is great as an enjoyable and light hearted show with a bit of fantasy. The phantoms are very cute and the worlds they are plunged into when encountering them are nevertheless fascinating and fun.

Prince of Stride: Alternative

Temporary Rating: 6.5/10 - I like it b/c of the sport

Prince of Stride is adapted from an otome game and thus the reason why most characters are pretty boys with only one main girl character. It involves the fictional sport Stride which is essentially a mix of relay running and probably parkour which is free running where you must go from one checkpoint to the next whilst manoeuvring the obstacles that are in your way. Therefore, basically there are 5 runners with one relationer. The runners' jobs are to run from one checkpoint to the next and tagging the next team member in order for them to then run and thus the relationer's job would be to inform when the next runner should start running so that the current runner and the next runner will intersect at that checkpoint and pass over for the second and so forth runner making the relationer an important aspect of the sport since unlike a relay, here, the runner can't see the next runner and will have to entirely rely on the relationer knowing their running speed etc to calculate the right timing for them to meet but not collide into each other and since the relationers from the two teams sit next to each other, the relationers have to keep their calm and not be affected by the other team's calls to start running or be tricked by their bluffs. They also give advice to the runners about their routes and how far behind they may be from the other team's runner.

The main variation and unpredictable part into making this sport exciting for those who run and the audience would be the free running part since you've gotta map out the route and see which shortcuts would be viable etc but basically, runners don't have to run on the same route as long as they arrive at the same checkpoints, but everything is about speed of course, I mean in the end it is a racing sport so whoever gets there the fastest is the winner. I think it's a really interesting sport.

As for the anime itself, pretty average on the whole, has most of the cliché shounen sports type of feel where there's the super serious guy that loves the sport and a little brother that possibly feels overshadowed in his big brother's talent and glory in this same sport. For now, I'd say the girl doesn't seem to have that much of a personality for me to comment on but yeah she's okay and the anime is more focused on the sport rather than anything romantic so I am rather happy about that since I do think the sport is amusing and our characters have a good balance in the variety of personalities to make it entertaining.

But, I do have to admit that despite it being cliché, it does have a good atmosphere to it and I don't mind these heavy backgrounds such as the Stride Club at their school being once renowned but then going down to the pits due to an incident and the talented senpai that retired because of it but then our main characters will help them mend it somehow. I think, I like it~ There really are way too many boys though hahaha but whatever I like them! :) They're all so cute, honest, youthful and dedicated in their own way and that's really the best part of sports anime isn't it? Everyone has their different motivations to keep going and when you see them keep trying, it's really rather refreshing and heart-warming to see since you can see how much they love this sport. As for if it's like Free!, I have no idea since I never watched Free hahaha, but they're not naked and there's no fanservice besides being able to look at pretty boys running so yay~ This one really has a feel good atmosphere to it, I like it~  Kuga-senpai is the coolest!

Bubuki Buranki

Temporary Rating: 6/10

Initially, I wasn't very impressed with the 3D or the first two episodes since they seemed like rather weak intros but I think it picks up a bit in the 4th and 5th for you to understand the motivations of our main characters. It's still not the most interesting one but I think it could become fairly interesting battle-wise since it seems capable of it. The story is basically about our mc Kazuki Azuma trying to find his mother again in order to restore peace to the world that is supposedly terrorised by the villain known as Banryuu Reoko. Not much to say about the enemies since we don't get to really know anything about them besides that our main party needs to fight them and that they're eternal enemies because the Buranki of both sides have fought each other since long ago. Bubuki are weapons with their own mind and the ones that are shown from our main party are limbs of the Buranki named Oubu where our hero controls the heart since obviously he's the most important one. Not sure what exactly Buranki are besides gigantic weapons that could destroy the world or help restore it if put into the right people to controlling it.

I'd say, it's a bit slow on the pick up but I think there will be a few more episodes with the battles of each of our main characters against the other side just to give some background on their motivations for needing to find Azuma's mother or the island in the sky that she is on that she is protecting to prevent any more Buranki from falling onto our world since apparently there's plenty up there~ But yeah,I think it's fairly amusing for now but nothing surprising. Best character is probably Kinoa and Kogane is so cutee~ Otherwise, Azuma really has a boring character. I'm just waiting for the sister to appear again and (hopefully) go nuts saying that she should be the one to control Oubu and then something happens and Azuma will seem like the chosen one or something loll. That would be the typical storyline but who knows, we'll see how it goes.

Shoujo-tachi  wa Kouya o Mezasu

Temporary Rating: 6/10

This one also follows a very typical pattern of a club with the classic characters and our main male protagonist accidentally finding something he wants to do or enjoys doing because the female one dragged him into it; in this case, it is a bishoujo game aka galge where attractive girls interact with each other. I think it seems to be like a visual novel basically. I guess the main reason I'm interested in this show would be that it's fun to see people creating a game together~ especially a visual novel, it feels so nicee. Except! They haven't really talked much about the process itself )which I would've liked). All they really do is allocate the different jobs required to make this game and then have them go through fairly simple problems that get solved in one episode. There also hasn't been much development for our characters so I guess I hope it will improve later on? Their interpersonal relationships are rather shallow right now after all but I am interested in the galge part of this so I'll follow it for a bit longer. It's like a slice of life so I guess it's an okay anime to just sit back and relax with to see how they do~

Norn 9: Norn + Nonetto

Temporary Rating: 6.5/10 - For a shoujo, I like it!

I usually like to read shoujo manga but not watch shoujo for some odd reason but I think that for a shoujo, this is pretty nice and interesting. Initially, I really had no idea what was going on and I still don't but I do think the story is starting to unravel after 5 episodes. I'm not entirely sure but my take on this is that it seems to be about various people who come from different worlds or different worlds following a similar timeline with variations that have been summoned to this ship to live and cultivate their abilities to change the past? Nah I dunno haha but anyway, obviously most of them are guys so you get all your eye candy and they have all the stereotypical personalities but our main ones have a bit more of a personality to them. For me, the fun thing is that there are 3 main heroines that in my opinion are rather likeable. Their personalities aren't the most original but I think their background and how they portray their characters is done very well. Anyway, they seem to all be on this ship because they have special abilities and they are governed by something called "The World" and they will possibly be used as weapons for war. As for what kind of war etc etc, it doesn't say yet because the first episodes seem to be revolving around introducing our characters and cultivating their relationships. I was pretty excited when they finally left the ship because it seems like they do actually interact with some sort of civilisation but yeah, we shall see~

Another thing I like about this is that the romantic partners that each of the girls will have is already set. There's no ambiguity, but of course there will be some sort of problem they will have to overcome which I'm all for! I totally hate stuff where every single guy likes the main heroine. This one seems to be refreshing for now and I am for one interested in what exactly this place they're living in is all about.Oh, and those baby chicks are sooo freaking cuteee! The chef one and the doctor one omggg! I need one of those! They're soo adorable!! I look forward to their appearances every episode! Hahaha! But yeah, although our heroine is the typical naive dunce etc, I think she's very cute and sweet because despite her naivete she is..how do I say it...true to herself? She's brave, honest, cute and stubborn in her own respect, I don't mind her~ I'm looking forward to more Kakeru x Koharu because I'm all for vanilla romancee~~ The other two seem to have more complicated relationships so I think the simpleness of Koharu really shines with a nice refreshing feeling.

Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut

Temporary rating: 6/10

I'm on the fence for this one, it has all the  cliché harem stuff where our male mc falls into a bath and sees the girls naked etc and then somehow ends up enrolling into this all-female school (best place for harems) and is also a hero that is amazing at fighting in their robot thingos. To be fair, I quite like the action scenes but most of the time they're just really building on these shallow harem relationships where every girl must love our male mc and you have all the stereotypes to cheer for. I also didn't mind the idea of him being a prince of the old empire and our tsundere princess of the new empire's story and background but they just brushed passed it so quickly, she just became part of the harem instead of anything substantial.  Art is nicee~ But yeah, to me, I'd say it feels like Zero no Tsukaima to me in the latter seasons when fighting was a rare sight and it was mainly revolving around fighting for the male mc and seducing him. Honestly, I don't mind harem or ecchi etc but I can't deal with it when it's not comedy or it doesn't have a decent enough focus on the story so it's pretty nice as a typical harem story for now but I guess I'll follow it a bit longer to see if it gets more interesting since I do feel that there might be something more to this but otherwise Phi-chan is the cutest~

DROPPED LIST

Luck and Logic

(Watched 3 episodes)

To be honest, I don't mind the male mc and his partner but I'm really not fond of the other little girls that are like magical girls or something ughh. The story revolves around our protagonist that lost his Logic that he lost after overusing his power once upon a time but then this lost Logic is found by the goddess Athena that ends up partnering with him to fight against Foreigners from another world that are invading them; they seem to be just monsters either manifested from the human mind or just controlling humans. I think the concept for this is interesting but execution of it rather poor. Battle scenes are also rather 3D but I still feel like the battle scenes are quite boring especially with how the girls look gahh. I prefer Saijaku Muhai no Bahamut's battle scenes much more than this.

Divine Gate

(Watched 3 episodes)

I really wanted to be interested in this since I'm fond of those things they do their elements reciprocate with their names and colours just like our 3 main characters where Ao is blue, Aka is red and Midori is green etc and I think the character designs are nice but the story is plain boring and just sometimes unbearable with the little kid narrator thingo where they always feel like there's a need to explain everything that is happening into words. Every feeling they have, every thought, every deeper meaning to everything! It's like obviously you couldn't interpret it yourself so I'll just spell it out for you but seriously, it just demeans and cheapens the whole thing with this kid constantly in the background saying things! I thought it was just for our main guy mc that is is a bit stoic and one of those afraid to approach others because it brings calamities or trouble etc. And after 3 episodes, I really can't care less about this Divine Gate that grants your wishes nor our main characters because they're such shallow creations and the battle scenes are rather linear and have no proper action either so yeah, really don't wanna continue this one.

Haruta to Chika wa Seishun Suru (HaruChika)

(Watched 5 episodes)

Probably watched mroe episodes than I should have but I really thought that there would be some sort of use for the fact that they were in the brass band club or whatever but this anime has nothing to do with music besides the fact that they use this music club as like the premise of where they meet all sorts of people to go on their little mystery adventures. I feel like it's similar to Hyouka in some way but I gave up on that one too so obviously, I'm giving up on this one. It's not that it's really bad but it's just not particular interesting either and I just really don't care for any of the stuff that happens. I think if you like stuff where your main characters go around solving their daily mysteries with their little group of friends, then yeah you'll like it. You get to see a story of another person's on the street and how it is so touching and important that our Haruta (male mc) solves these puzzles that they couldn't solve. But tbh, I'm not a fan of these so I was pretty bored. It's too bad though since I do like the art and character design but yeah, nah. Everyone practically has their set roles and it doesn't look like they're gonna move out of those roles like how Haruta will always be the one to solve it and our female mc will help him through her actions, optimism etc and you have your sidekicks on the side and stuff like that.

Phantasy Star Online 2 The Animation

(Watched 5 episodes)

Hmm..how do I say it..the characters aren't interesting and the story is rather boring as well? First things first, I've never played this game before or ever heard of it so I'm just dropping it because I don't find it interesting and not because it's like a disgrace to the game or anything. Personally, I find the information the anime likes to throw at you rather annoying since I play games myself and I just find myself facepalming whenever they feel the need to tell me what a troll is or even what an npc is! I lost it when our guy mc wasn't even supposed to know that! Like seriously?! To be fair, it's probably a nice introduction through an anime to show you how mmos work and what kind of people there are and how they may be like in real life but come on! The story is practically non-existent and the characters don't make up for this because they're rather bland as well. I guess this just wasn't my thing. Next thing you know, I feel like it's gonna start talking about bots, operating the marketplace and doing raids or something gahh. Yeah, nah, I think I'll spend my time playing a game myself instead. Oh and the main thing that I was interested in for this in the first place was to see the battle system but meh, there's not much of it and when you see it, it seems mediocre.

Ao no Kanata no Four Rhythm

(Watched 4 episodes)

Pretty typical storyline with our guy mc being a secretive badass at once being one of the best in this air gliding sport called Flying Circus but then having quit for unknown reasons and is slowly coming back to it due to the appearance of this ditzy but very talented transfer student girl in this sport. It seems that basically, the sport is all about either racing to the buoys and hitting them first or attacking your opponent and hitting them on the back to score a point. The idea of a flying sport with these Grav-shoes that allow them to fly to school and participate in this sport was fairly amusing but it seems to go on the typical storyline trope for now with tournaments; improving themselves, bonding with each other and helping our mc come back to his glorious self or whatever. I guess the amusing thing would be the ditziness of our girl mc but otherwise, this is passable just because the sport and the characters themselves have no substance to it; there's really nothing interesting about it tbh. It's OK but I think I'd rather invest my time in some other old anime that I've been wanting to watch.

Koukaku no Pandora

(Watched 2 episodes)

Well, after hearing about my tastes, you may have realised that I mostly like stories with character development but they've got to have something I like/don't mind about them or have a story that I'm interested in to capture me into continuing. Quite frankly, I can't stand any of the characters in this anime. They're not even that bad or any different from other annoying characters but I don't know if it's the combination of them or what but I just can't deal so I gave up. But if you're interested in lolita sorta tsundere cyborgs with an overly energetic and cute human cyborg kinda girl with a weird scientist trying to protect their town or world or I don't know, then maybe you'll like this?

Active Raid: Kidou Kyoushuushitsu Dai Hachi Gakari

(Watched 1 episode)

Well, I don't know if it gets any better in the following episodes but I have to say that the first episode that I watched just felt so ridiculous and so boring that I couldn't bear it. Nothing about it made me think this mecha action was interesting nor was there anything outstanding about this combating crime part. To be fair, the main reason I could not get into this was because I saw some of the characters and their initial personalities were such balls of anime human cliché that I just couldn't bother continuing. But I only watched one episode, so it could get better, I just really can't be bothered.

Sekkou Boys

(Watched 2 episodes)

Honestly, this actually isn't too bad, it has a pretty normal story except with sculptures being your idols loll. I love how there's an idol that's actually a fan of them lmao. But yeah, if you can get over the weird idea of stone sculptures being idols and talking like normal people except that they can't move and sometimes even dropped by our manager here hahaha. I'd think that the main reason to watch this show would be the comedic interactions between the characters and I do enjoy that aspect but every now and then I just can't shrug off the "what exactly am I watching?" feeling and yeah, I don't think I can be bothered to continue with this. It's not that it isn't good, especially since they're short episodes but I just feel like, I'm unable to cross the line into sculptures being idols yet... I think I've left the world of anime for too long..haha But yes, it's an anime about our new manager girl dealing with her new sculpture idols.

I also tried like 1 minute of Noblesse before I was like NOPE just because the art in the anime was just not up to par with the webtoon and substantially changed. The aura of Frankenstein changed from an individualistic yet faithful to serving Rai became a Japanese-ified looking butler and Rai doesn't have the same radiance either. Everyone just looks like they just got a Japanese makeover and so no, I'm not going through with that.

Anyways, that's all~! This took much longer to watch and type than I thought haha but it was fun~ I guess I'll try and keep up with this blog hehe.
